So, where does it all come from, you may be wondering.
Alright.I'll do my best to answer that question, though I will say this: that is a really, really, really, really, really hard
question to answer.
My inspiration comes from so many places. The biggest one is
probably conversations that I have with people. Those of you who know me
in person know that I talk. A lot. Most of my story ideas come from
simple conversations. Boring stuff. The stuff that most people would
overlook in a split instant. Another HUGE inspirational point is my
friends and family. I cannot tell you how many times my friends and
siblings have started my head to 'thinking stuffs'. I literally have to
tell myself, "No, you cant write that right now." to keep from leaving
one story hanging to move onto another. It drives me crazy!
The same goes for my drawings. I've recently gotten to where I
love drawing couples. Couples dancing, especially, but also running, playing
board-games, praying, just chilling, anything. I love to draw trees. Bright green leaves for a good, happy
mood; dark, sinister, unhappy trees for an angry mood; Winter-y snow
laden trees for something peaceful...it's just fun.
Though a lot of my drawings are done for fun, most of them have
something to do with my writing. I love to draw out my characters, using
whatever I can to get a visual. How a person dresses, smiles, wears her
hair...all of that portrays very clearly the character being herself. I
get to know them better by drawing them....And sometimes vice-versa.
I actually create characters based off of drawings, too. That's
another inspiration. My drawings inspire me to write, and my writing
inspires me to draw! It's cool. When I dont feel like writing (which is
usually more often than not, actually [I'll get to that in a minute]) I
draw. When I dont feel like drawing (which is never) I write.
Okay. I love to write, but guys, let me tell you. It's not easy.
There are times when I absolutely HATE writing with a passion. But I
keep at it.
I've said before, I hate giving up on characters and
stories. I hate it. Which is why I try so so so so so so so so SO hard
to make it work before I can it. But sometimes it just happens and I
cannot continue it. Like with my WWII story. I am not kidding when I say
I have started that novel no less than 13 times. It's not easy being a
writer.
I came upon the Agatha Christie quote to the right while
procrastinating on Pinterest (<-- another great source of
inspiration, BTW, though, it might be cheating at that point *laughs*) I
can honestly say that this sums up my writing life. I really does.
Really and truly. Though, I am NOT a professional!
Here is a little something I wrote...
"Keep your fire blazing.
Keep your candle burning.
Keep writing even when it's hard.
Keep reading forever until Christ returns.
Keep drawing even if you think it's terrible.
Keep your eyes on the future, not on the past
(we all know what happened to Lot's wife)
Keep your swords sharp and let them be at the ready.
(You never know when Duties may call!)"
